As Capital Defender, I led a defense team that successfully represented over 50 clients, none of whom received a death sentence. Due in large part to the success of the Capital Defender offices (no death sentences in the last 11 years) Virginia abolished the death penalty this year, as a result, I retired from public service and opened a private practice dedicated to representing those charged with a criminal offense in S.W. Virginia. I have extensive jury trial experience, am a skilled courtroom advocate and persuasive litigator with a thorough understanding of Virginia’s criminal laws.    I have represented thousands of  people charged with offenses ranging from trespassing to murder in both bench and jury trials throughout South West Virginia. I bring  my wealth of experience, thorough knowledge of Virginia law and record of success to my law practice in Rocky Mount, Virginia.  If you have been charged with a crime you need an experienced and aggressive defense attorney, call me for a free consultation.

. I look forward to bringing my skills and experience to defend those who the government seeks to fine or imprison.
